NATIONAL CEMENT OF ALABAMA:

Expanding Capacity,
Strengthening Supply,
and Driving Future Growth

National Cement of Alabama's New Dickson, TN facility
Through strategic market research, infrastructure investments, and expanded rail connections, National Cement of Alabama has strengthened its footprint in key regions—most notably in the booming Nashville market with the addition of two new terminals in Tennessee

“In 2023, we modified and improved Greenville, SC, and Jefferson, GA, by adding more track, more silo space, and expanding overall capacity,” says National Cement President Spencer Weitman. “Then we built three new terminals in Stockbridge, GA, Lebanon, TN, and Dixon, TN. Lebanon was the last to come online in September 2024."

“We now have all mature distribution terminals operating, and we’ve added rail cars to service them,” Weitman says.

"We have a great logistics system, with eight total terminals throughout the Southeast that are performing well. We have the customer base and the staff to handle it, and now we’re going to grow with the customer base,” he says.

Poised for the Future

National Cement Southeast COO Thibault Dumortier emphasizes that the recent infrastructure expansion goes hand in hand with product innovation and sustainability. “I“We are targeting 2 million tons of cement this year—an increase from 2024,” Dumortier says. "We’ve been growing for the last three years, and that’s a great achievement for us. This is possible thanks to our newly expanded terminal network, which has a maximum capacity of 2.2 million tons.”

With a fully operational terminal network, an expanded rail fleet, and a growing customer base, National Cement is positioned for sustained success. “As we expanded, we focused on high-growth markets that align with our long-term strategy—not just for immediate success, but to ensure sustained growth and efficiency well into the future,” says Jason Heathcock, Vice President of Logistics.
